About

I'm Simon Feuillade - Traveller, Photographer and AvGeek.

My interest in other countries, languages and travelling began when I was little. I was always poring over the flag section of the encyclopedia that we had when I grew up, and whenever I was sick, I would read The Fantastic Flying Journey by Gerald Durrell and Graham Percy, about three children and their great-uncle who travel the world in a hot air balloon.

I've also been inspired by my parents, who've passed on their love for Il bel paese - Italy. The Massa region of Tuscany is probably the place I've revisited most times. Another source of inspiration is my late grandfather, who travelled a lot, and often wrote travel diaries/journals afterwards. The catchphrase of his travel diaries was "Every traveller has a story to tell" - which I've adopted to this blog.

More recently, I've also been inspired by other travel vloggersbloggers and trip reporters, of which my favourite is SANspotter, who is based in San Diego, CA.

I currently live in Stockholm, Sweden (so ARN is my main gateway to the world). I've been blogging on and off for quite some time now, but I started this blog (in January 2018) as a place to write trip reports and travel stories, just like I've been keeping a flight log (since December 2013) and posting travel photography on my Instagram account (since November 2017).

If you've found your way to this blog, I'd like to say sit back, relax and enjoy your flight! You can find a little more information about me in the Q&A post that I did in june 2018, here.
