After travelling to Bulgaria in October last year (Sofia instantly became one of my favourite cities), and Niš in April this year, it was time to revisit the Balkans. I'd been looking at Sarajevo flights for quite some time (Norwegian actually have direct flights between Stockholm and Sarajevo), but now it was finally time to turn the plan into action. Air Serbia offered tickets via Belgrade with great transit times (or so I thought...), meaning that this trip was perfectly doable in one weekend - I wouldn't have to take any time off work, and still get 24 hours in Bosnia. Perfect!

My wife wasn't interested in this trip, so I asked my parents instead. It's been a long time since I've travelled with both of them, and (quite to my surprise) they were game. They also travel a lot, but mostly to Italy, and this would be the first trip to Bosnia for all of us.

Now, as it turned out, this trip didn't go according to plan at all. The first flight to Belgrade was delayed a couple of hours, which led to us missing our connection. But first things first... We'll take a look at how the trip turned out in the following posts, but here's what the original itinerary looked like for this trip.

The original itinerary for this trip:
2018-06-02: JU411, Airbus 319 economy class, Stockholm to Belgrade
2018-06-02: JU112, ATR-72 economy class, Belgrade to Sarajevo
2018-06-03: JU113, ATR-72 economy class, Sarajevo to Belgrade
2018-06-03: JU414, Airbus 319 economy class, Belgrade to Stockholm

We actually ended up taking only one of these four flights (!), but the flight that we did take was the first one, so let's head to Arlanda Airport to make Air Serbia's acquaintance, and then we'll see if we can get the rest sorted out in the posts thereafter!
