This will be more of a photo essay than a long post about how we felt about Mauritius. But we liked this country! It was laid-back. People were friendly. The beaches were nice, and the water was gorgeous. The temperature was good (although it was a little too windy when one had just taken a swim). We could really relax here, and that was the main purpose.

Apart from staying at the hotel, we took a couple of boat trips, we visited the beaches Belle-Mare and Flic en Flac, and we went on a day trip in the north, where we visited the capital Port Louis and a few other places. So here we go - Mauritius in pictures!

The roads are good, but very narrow, so you're better off letting a Mauritian take care of the driving...

The sea was quite rough at times!

Stray dogs are common (especially on the beaches) but mostly harmless
