After spending one night in Taipei, it was time to head back to Taoyuan Airport in the early morning (yes, this was indeed a crazy itinerary, albeit deliberate...)

I had an 08:30 departure, and therefore wanted to be at the airport at around 06:00, to have ample time to check out the lounge. However, the taxi ride from the hotel was a lot faster than advertised, so I ended up having a little over three hours to kill here. A little too much, as the lounge was a little small, and the lack of sleep was catching up on me.

After checking in and receiving all my boarding cards for the flights home, I headed to "The Infinity". EVA Air have four different lounges at Taoyuan, but this is the one that was open for me as a business class passenger.

The photo above is from the entrance to the lounge, and in case it doesn't show on the photo, the sign is huge, so it's hard to miss... After scanning my boarding card at the lobby I went straight to the food and drinks section of the lounge to grab some breakfast.

Decent food selection, but if you're anything like me, you only see the maroon-coloured freezer way back...

My breakfast. The lounge was stylish, but seriously, what's with these green trays?

And yes - of course I went to the freezer to grab some Häagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream

The lounge was quite crowded, but I got a spot at a table so I could eat my breakfast and ice cream. There wasn't all that much else to do, but they hade a big information screen showing departures and "go to gate" messages. They also had a wall with newspapers. With a little over one hour to go before boarding, I went to the gate to wait there instead, for my first ever flight on EVA Air.

I would rate "The Infinity" the second best lounge thus far on this trip. Way better than the SAS Lounge at ARN and the THAI Royal First Lounge at BKK, but Singapore Airlines' lounge at Heathrow is still head and shoulders above the competition. The Infinity is a good lounge though, with decent food and comfortable seating options. A little too crowded, though.
